From Southern Thailand to Chicago
In 2001, founder Nakamol moved from a small rural town in southern Thailand to Chicago to pursue her master’s degree. With a limited income and a love of fashion, she began making jewelry for friends and family. What started as a personal creative outlet became the beginning of Nakamol.
Those first pieces carried the qualities that still define the brand: attention to detail, expressive color and the pleasure of making something by hand. Jewelry offered a way to bring individuality to an outfit and create a meaningful connection through a gift.
As the business grew, Nakamol’s Thai roots remained central. Handmade production in Thailand became part of a larger purpose: creating dignified work opportunities and helping people remain connected to their families and communities.
